James G. Snyder Obituary
Bishop, CA - James G. Snyder, 79, of Bishop California, passed away on 03/21/26. Born in Sioux Rapids to Gordon and Ruth Ann Snyder on 02/21/47.
He loved his family, friends, the VFW Post 8988, hunting and fishing, but mostly he loved his Country. Jim proudly served in the United States Marine, Corps, Lima Co. 3rd Bn 1st Marines, during the Vietnam war from 10/11/66 through 09/13/68, including the Battle of Badger Tooth. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal. He received these Medals:
National Defense Service Medal
Vietnam Service Medal
Vietnam Campaign Medal
Navy Campaign Medal
Good Conduct Medal
Following his service, Jim returned home to work as a General Contractor for many years in Banning, California. When he retired, he moved permanently to Bishop, which he called his forever home.
He is survived by his wife Lisa, sister Janet Baccari, bother-in-law Ed Baccari, nephew Edward Baccari, niece Christine Baccari, great nephew William Briscoe and great niece Elizabeth Briscoe.
He will live forever in our minds and forever in our hearts
A celebration of Life will be held at the VFW Post 8988, 484 Short Street, Bishop - on Saturday, May 30th - two o'clock.
